Cabin Hoppers kick-off planned

The Caribou Hill Cabin Hoppers will hold its annual kick-off party at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Kenai National Guard Armory. Attendees are asked to bring a potluck dish to share. Door prizes and a drawing for a “your choice” snowmachine will be held. For more information, call Nolan Compton at 398-4331.

Referee seminar set

A hockey referee seminar will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Soldotna Sports Center. To become a certified hockey referee a person must attend a referee seminar each year and be certified before they can referee hockey games for the Kenai Peninsula Hockey Association.

Participants should bring skates, a helmet and a whistle for the on-ice portion of the seminar. Lunch will be provided. Preregistration is not necessary. The cost is $10. For more information, call Dick Waisanen at 262-6298.

Seniors offer breakfast

The Nikiski Senior Citizens Center will hold a breakfast buffet from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday a the center one mile off Island Lake Road. Breakfast includes scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, gravy, biscuits and a beverage. The cost is $1 per year for children ages 8 and under or $8 per person.

Used book sale set

Soldotna Public Library volunteers will host a monthly used book sale from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library. For more information, call 262-4227.
