Vail, Smith marry in Kenai

Ashleigh Marie Vail of Soldotna and Matthew Adrian Smith of Kenai were married in an afternoon ceremony at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. Eric Hansen, friend of the groom officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Cathi Vail and Donni Vail of Soldotna. She attended Skyview High School before getting her GED in 2004. Ashleigh is employed by Mykel's Restaurant. She wore a white strapless Maggie Sottero gown encrusted with crystals. Ariel Vail, sister of the bride served as the maid of honor. She wore a light blue flowing floor-length gown and carried a bouquet of white and red roses. Ruth Anderson and Kili Tennison served as bridesmaids and wore matching navy colored tea-length dresses. They also carried bouquets of red and white roses.

The groom is the son of Russ Smith of Kenai and Leda and Kevin Davis of Salt Lake City, Utah. He is a graduate of Kenai Central High School and is employed by CH2M Hill. Father of the groom served as the best man. Steve Blunk and Bowman McDonald were the ushers for the service.

The reception hall was decorated to look like a winter wonderland.

The couple are planning a honeymoon in Maui in 2008.

They have purchased a home on Echo Lake.
