CIRCAC plans 20th anniversary logo competition

To commemorate 20 years of service, the Cook Inlet Regional Citizens Advisory Council is hosting a 20th anniversary logo design competition thorough Nov. 8. There will be a $250 cash award for the selected logo design. The design will be unveiled at the Council's 20th anniversary reception on Dec. 2.

The Council was created by the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 to represent the citizens of Cook Inlet in promoting environmentally safe marine transportation and oil facility operations.

Wallyball tournament on tap

A co-ed scramble wallyball tournament is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Kenai Recreation Center. Teams will be drawn from a hat. Registration is $10 per person. For more information or to sign up in advance, call Dan Conetta at 283-5199 or Ramon Carreon at 252-9276.

Trunks needed for Trunk or Treat

The Boys & Girls Club in Kenai is seeking assistance from the community with its annual Trunk or Treat event, slated for 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 31.

City men's league begins

The Kenai Recreation Center is taking registration for the 2010/2011 Men's City League Program. Registration deadline is Nov. 1, and space is limited. Call 283-3855 for more information.

Little League annual meeting

Kenai Little League will host its annual meeting Nov. 2, at 6 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club administration office in Kenai. The meeting is open to the general public. Anyone interested in serving on the board or just volunteering their time should attend this meeting. For more information call 283-6507.

Lifeguard classes offered

The Nikiski Pool is offering the American Red Cross Lifeguard Class from Nov. 1 - 5 and Nov. 8 - 10 from 6-10 p.m. all days. The fee is $135, or participants can sign up for the T.A.P. program and the fee can be waived. For more information on T.A.P. or to sign up, call Nigel at 776-8800. Pre-registration is required.
