Poet's Corner

by Bill Lowe, Sterling

Another Halloween eve just around the bend;

a time for fun so please employ a good friend.

Many strange things happen Halloween night,

so plan ahead to make this eve work out right.

Do not take chances; the wrath might get you.

Everyone approaching doesn't just say "BOO".

It could be a state trooper and flashing lights.

doing his police work, reading you your rights.

So once again about the friend you might use.

It'll be a good plan if you're sipping the booze.

Give up your keys early before the night's end

to someone who's a good "non-drinking" friend.

Keep a DUI off the record, out of the reports

and don't go straight to jail or visit the courts.

We'd all love for you to enjoy life and survive;

be responsible and wise; remain safe and alive!
