Mixing zone changes would serve to hurt environment

Posted: Friday, October 22, 2004

It would be a very wrong at this time to change the mixing zone regulations that will allow more pollution into Alaskan waters! Salmon health and habitat are extremely important. We are now being recognized for our clean waters and healthy salmon as compared to salmon from other areas whether farmed or natural.

This is not the time to place roadblocks to the salmon industry's progress. Alaska is not the Lower 48. We have a chance to do things correctly and stand our ground on pollution of our environment.

As your name(DEC) implies, stand up for the right choice and forget this change in mixing zones. We will all suffer if this new regulation is imposed on the Alaskan environment!
