German passenger traffic up at Ted Stevens Anchorage International

ANCHORAGE (AP) -- The number of German visitors to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport rose 32 percent last summer.

Airport officials are crediting the addition of LTU International Airways' direct service from Dusseldorf to Anchorage for much of that gain.

Condor Airlines, meanwhile, said it will continue operating two weekly flights between Anchorage and Frankfurt next year. The flights will not include stops at Whitehorse, Yukon, as in previous summers, the airline said.

That should double the number of available seats for the Anchorage market, airport officials said.

Condor also plans a third weekly flight that will operate from Frankfurt to Fairbanks by way of Whitehorse, officials said.
