Class taught by Ken Lancaster, mayor of Soldotna, Steve Horn, council person for City of Soldotna, and Pat Burdick, clerk of City of Soldotna held at Soldotna Middle School, Music Room, from 7 to 9 p.m. The class will offer a look at Soldotna's form of government, mayoral and council duties, layout of department, meeting procedures, agendas and more. There will be a question and answer period. The class will be held for one night for all ages. The cost is $2.

Reading readiness can happen at home; what is role play reading
Class taught by Tara Rosin, reading teacher, Redoubt Elementary School and Lynne Elliott, kindergarten teacher, Redoubt Elementary School Learn the "tricks of the trade" and why these strategies benefit your child and ways to prepare your child for learning to read before they enter school. Both classes taught at Soldotna Elementary School, Library, from 7 to 9 p.m. for one night. The cost is $3 per night, per person or $5 per night per family. An additional reading workshop offered November 7.

The class will cover Systematic Training and Effective Parenting -- STEP Communication, listening skills and problem solving with parents and children. Natural and logical consequences will be discussed during the eight-hour course.
Parents and kids hoops
The class has no facilitator. Parents and their kids get together for basketball fun at Soldotna Middle School gym, from 6 to 7 p.m. for eight weeks. The class is for kids and parents only. There is no fee for the class.
Kinder music - our time and toddler time
Class taught by Marnie Jensen at Soldotna Middle School multipurpose room, from 6 to 7 p.m.
A music and movement program for the 1 to 3 year-old and parent. Supervision is encouraged by parents. Bring physical education toys to share. The class will be held for eight weeks. There is no fee for the class.
Mainstream square dancing
Class taught by Dudley Abbott at Kalifornsky Beach Elementary gym, from 7 to 9 p.m. The class is ongoing for teens and adults. No cowboy boots or black soled shoes. The cost of the class is $3 per night.
This class has no facilitator. Two courts -- one slowbreak, one fastbreak, pick-up games. The class will be held at the Soldotna Middle School gym, from 7 to 9 p.m. for eight weeks. Participants must be 18 years or older to play. The cost is $4 per night or punch card for $35 or $65.
Tracking the Alaska Legislature via the Internet
Class taught by Alyson Stogsdill, Kenai Legislative Information Officer Instruction at the Soldotna Middle School Dell Lab, from 6 to 9 p.m. Discussion will be on tracking current and past Alaska legislation.The class will be held one night for high school students and adults, twenty five-person maximum. There is no fee for the class.
Class taught by Dr. Kathleen Dinius at Soldotna Middle School, Room 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. The topic will be "Dealing with Loss and Being Alone." The class is apart of a four-session series with each session led by a different professional.
The cost is $5 per night or $18 for the series
Indoor soccer for sixth -12th-graders
Class taught by Tony Lewis, Soldotna Middle School and Skyview High School Soccer Coach, at the Soldotna Middle School gym and multipurpose room, from 7 to 9 p.m.. The class will be held for nine weeks, The cost is $1 per night.
Introduction to rock climbing
Class taught by Bob Summer, Pete Campbell, Mike Gatling at Kenai Middle School gym, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Instruction on safety, technique, ropes and slings. All proceeds go to equipment. Students under 16 must be accompanied by parent. Parents must sign a release for anyone under 18 years. Walk-ins welcome. The class will be held for six week. The cost is $5 per night or $25 for the series.

Adult coed recreation volleyball
Class taught by Pam Rosano at the Kalifornsky Beach Elementary gym, from 7 to 9 p.m. for nine weeks. The class has a 12 person maximum and the cost is $3 per night or $25 for the series. Pick up games, just for fun.
