Heritage Place resident Mary Ellis Sisson died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at Heritage Place in Soldotna. She was 78.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. today at Heritage Place. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando, Fla.
Ms. Sisson was born Sept. 2, 1924, in Paducah, Ky. She lived in Orlando and worked as a retail clerk for Disney World for 15 years. She retired in 1986 and moved to Alaska in December 1998.
Ms. Sisson received numerous service awards during her employment at Disney World.
"Mom enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching football, traveling and helping others. Mom was a very generous person who loved to travel, play bingo, figure out crossword puzzles, watch 'Wheel of Fortune' and football," her family said.
Ms. Sisson was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lord, and her son, Rick Sisson.
She is survived by her son, Ron Sisson of Palmer; daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Steve Blodgett of Talkeetna and Jennette and Will Browning of Kenai; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Ruth Gholson and Gerald and Margie Gholson of Orlando; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
