Arctic Winter Games continue to pay off

Posted: Monday, October 23, 2006

Probably many of us have forgotten already all the work and preparation and activity locally when the Arctic Winter Games took place. I for one traveled to Arizona that week to visit my parents.

The Arctic Winter Games were a driving force in the overall improvement and creation of assorted sporting venues. What arrived here in Ninilchik last week were two new activity buses that were a direct benefit of hosting the games on the Kenai Peninsula.

At a recent meeting in Kenai, I bumped into my friend, Jack Brown, and thanked him for his hard work and, of course, new buses.

At this time on behalf of our community and students, I must publicly express our appreciation to former (borough) Mayor Dale Bagley, a driving force in hosting the games, Jack Brown and, of course, all others who helped make this happen.
