Chamber lunch to feature talk of transportation

The weekly Kenai Chamber of Commerce luncheon will feature Sen. John Cowdery, R-Anchorage, chair of the Senate Transportation Committee, and Scott Habberstad, of Alaska Airlines.

The two will talk about what kind of flight safety measures Alaskans want to see on airplanes.

The lunch begins at noon at the Old Town Village Restaurant. The public is invited to attend.

WRCC annual meeting this evening

The Kenai-Soldotna Women's Resource and Crisis Center board will meet at 4:30 p.m. at the WRCC office in Kenai.

It will be followed by the annual membership meeting at 5:15 p.m.

Genealogist to speak Thursday

Kari Mohn will be the speaker at the monthly meeting of the Kenai Totem Tracers Genealogy Society. She will be explaining how to compile and publish a descendant book for a family reunion.

The meeting will be held in the conference room of the Kenai Community Library at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. All are welcome to attend.

Kenai planning session Saturday

The city of Kenai is holding a community planning session on Saturday at the Kenai Senior Citizens Center. The session is to gather citizens' ideas in three areas for the the city's future: quality of life, land use and public improvements. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. and will run until 1 p.m. For more information, and to make sure there are enough "chairs and doughnuts," call Marilyn Kebschull at 283-7535, extension 235.
