Today is last day to buy ticket for library raffle

Today is the last day to buy a ticket for the Friends of the Kenai Library fund-raising raffle. A dinner for two will be available for all participants Friday, followed by an event featuring music Saturday. A drawing of cash prizes, including the $7,500 grand prize, will be held Saturday. Tickets cost $100; only 300 were available at the beginning of the raffle. Tickets are available from board members and at the library check-out desk. Swimming lessons offered at Nikiski pool

A sign-up for Nikiski pool swimming lessons will be held at 7 a.m. today at the Nikiski pool classroom. The cost is $30 for a service area resident and $35 for a non-service area resident. Lessons will be held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of each week and are available from 1 to 1:50 p.m., 3 to 3:50 p.m., and 4 to 4:50 p.m. Each class is limited to 12 participants. Kenai chamber to meet

The Kenai Chamber of Commerce will hold its weekly luncheon at noon today at Paradisos Restaurant. Dr. David Shoemaker of the Women's Resource and Crisis Center will be the speaker. Congressman Don Young will not attend. The meeting is open to the public. For more information, call 283-7989.
