Dinner fund-raiser planned tonight

The Healing Rooms Ministry is conducting a dinner to raise funds this evening from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Healing Rooms building across from the Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center on Kenai Spur Highway in Kenai. The dinner, which will raise funds to help launch the ministry into the community, will include spaghetti, pizza, salad and dessert. All are welcome and are asked to RSVP by calling 283-1648.

Religious poems sought

A $1,000 grand prize is being offered in a special religious poetry contest sponsored by the New Jersey Rainbow Poets, free to anyone who has ever written a poem. Fifty prizes totaling almost $5,000 will be awarded. The deadline for entering is Oct. 31.

Native outreach fellowship to meet

The North Wind Native Fellowship, an inter-denominational Native outreach, meets at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, at Peninsula Grace Brethren, 44175 Kalifornsky Beach Road, Soldotna. Meetings are held every other Friday. Every fourth gathering is a Native potluck.

Peninsula women conference slated

A "Women of the Peninsula" conference is planned for Nov. 1 and 2 in the Central Peninsula Sports Center in Soldotna.

All are invited for a time of inspirational music, biblical teaching, friendship building and personal prayer. Inspirational presenters include Miriam Humphries, Ty and Niki Schemanski and international speaker JoAnne Meckstroth.

Registration fee is $40 and a catered lunch Saturday costs an additional $12. For information, call 262-6614.

Home for the holidays brunch slated

A "Home for the Holidays" brunch including speakers, vintage fashions and a holiday gifts show is slated for Nov. 12 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Solid Rock Conference Center, Mile 90.5 Sterling Highway, Soldotna.

Claudette Barber, owner of Claudette's, will present the fashions and gifts, and Donna Embree will speak on being happy to have a place to call home.

Great dads seminar planned

The Alaska Men's Ministry is offering a Great Dads Seminar from 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 17, at Faith Christian Community, Parkside Campus, 7801 E. 32nd Ave., Anchorage. To register, call 907-337-2135.

Clothing ministry open

The New 2 You clothing ministry of the First Baptist Church of Soldotna is open from 1 to 3 p.m. every first and third Saturday of the month.
