Sell out crowd enjoys the Las Vegas theme at the annual Soldotna Chamber Pie Auction

With pies that have sold in the past for more than $13,000, it’s hard to believe that the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce annual pie auction keeps breaking its record for total funds raised each year, but according to Soldotna Chamber Executive Director Michelle Glaves this year’s auction was the most successful ever. “A huge thank you to all who attended and helped to make this event our best ever,” said Glaves.

A record number of 55 pies were donated to be put on the auction block, “The bakers went above and beyond anything we’ve seen in creativity this year, the Las Vegas theme really seemed to inspire the culinary talents of local bakers,” said Robyn Sullens, project coordinator for the Soldotna Chamber. The high roller theme also added to the spirited bidding among the over 250 guests that enjoyed a delicious Prime Rib dinner served with all the fixings; “The casino décor made a festive atmosphere and put everyone in the mood. Everyone was dressed in Vegas attire from wedding gowns to card sharks and dance hall girls,” added Sullens.
