Fish and Game meeting set

The Kenai-Soldotna Fish and Game Advisory Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Kenai River Center. Statewide finfish proposals for November will be discussed. For more information, call 283-1054.

Church to sponsor country jamboree

The Peninsula Grace Brethren Church will sponsor a country jamboree from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Solid Rock Bible Camp. The evening is to be a Halloween alternative and will feature the hay maze, hay rides, hot dog roast, singing and trunk-or-treat. There is no fee, but donations are accepted.

PFLAG to hold Halloween party

The Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays will hold a Halloween party from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday. It is an alcohol-free event; children and costumes are welcome. For more information, call Natalie at 260-5347.

Haunted house fund-raiser slated

The Kenaitze Indian Tribe, IRA, will host a haunted house from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Fort Kenay at 1104 Mission Ave. in Kenai. Cost is $3 per person. All proceeds to benefit the Cultural Heritage programs and to help send its youth to the 2004 Arctic Winter Games.

Church of God plans Halloween event

The Soldotna Church of God will hold a Halloween event, "The Truth Time Machine," from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the church at the corner of Redoubt and Binkley. For more information, call Melissa at 252-4418.

Thanksgiving baskets to be offered

The North Star United Methodist Church, through the cooperation of other area groups, will offer Thanksgiving baskets to Nikiski area families in need. Request forms can be obtained at the Nikiski Post Office and Nikiski and North Star elementary schools.

Dinner boxes will be available for pick up Nov. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon at the church across from the old Chuck Wagon Restaurant. Requests must be returned by Nov. 14.
