A blood drive is going on today at the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call the center at 776-7654.

The Nikiski Neighbors Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. today at the Nikiski Senior Citizens Center. For more information, call Pastor Laura Skiba at 776-8732.

The Public Health Center will have a nurse at the Nikiski senior center Friday giving flu, pneumonia and tetanus shots. For more information, call 776-7654.

Joy Carew and Neva Black have the following message to share: The Redoubt Homemakers will have its fall bazaar Friday and Saturday at Nikiski Fire Station No. 1, across from The Place, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You'll find Tupperware, Avon, local crafters with homemade goodies, bake sale items, jellies and their special clean the closet feature this year, plus surprises. Do come and look.

Our senior center will have its annual fall bazaar and bake sale Nov. 4 through 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. To rent a table, call 776-7654.

Mary Rounds Scholarship Country Store will be at the annual fall carnival at Nikiski North Star Elementary School. They are looking for used items such as stuffed animals, craft items, books and other good items. No clothes. Items can be taken to the school on or before Friday.

Mary Kennedy reminds us that the Kenai Performers will present the classic thriller, "The Uninvited," this weekend and next. Performances will be held in the Old Town Playhouse (formerly Gary King's) in Kenai on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as Nov. 5 through 7. Friday and Saturday showings will be at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees will begin at 3 p.m. Tickets are available at Charlotte's, Coffee Roasters, River City Books and M & M Market. Pumpkin pie with whipped topping and hot apple cider will be available at intermission.

Celebrating a birthday today is Terry Allen Durrant; Wednesday: Billie Rae Parrish, Dolores Wik, Philip Mleschnitza and Bailey Maxson; Friday: Danita Parrish and Zach Koziczkowski; and Saturday: Stanley Huhndorf.

Celebrating their anniversary on Saturday are Paul and Suzanne Jackson.
