Winter gear sought

Peninsula Grace Brethren Church is collecting winter coats and other winter clothing, in new or used condition, for its annual Coats for the Community drive. The collected winter clothing will be given away free of charge from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 4 at the church at Mile 19.5 Kalifornsky Beach Road across from Craig Taylor Equipment.

Donations are being accepted at the following locations through Nov. 1: Kenai and Soldotna Safeway stores; the church; and Kenai, Soldotna and Skyview high schools. For more information, call 262-6442 or e-mail keith@peninsulagrace.org.

Grace Lutheran to host carnival

Grace Lutheran Church will host its annual harvest festival from 6 to 8 p.m. today. In addition to games and a costume parade, there will be a chili cook-off and a pie baking contest. Each family is asked to donate a bag of candy for prizes. For more information on the school’s programs, call 283-9551.

Addictions group meets

Reformers Unanimous, a Christ-centered addictions program, meets at 7 p.m. Fridays at Immanuel Baptist Church. For more information, call 283-9361.

Clothes closet opens

First Baptist Church in Soldotna offers free clothing from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays in the garage at 119 Little St., off Binkley.

Prayer meeting slated

The Kalifonsky Christian Center will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 pm. Saturday in observance of the First National Day of Healing. The church is located at Mile 17 Kalifornsky Beach Road.

Sunday healing class continues

The Abundant Life Assembly of God will finish up its series of healing classes at 6 p.m. Sunday at the church at Mile 81.5 of the Sterling Highway in Sterling. The topic will be “Freedom from Fear and Negative Emotions.” For more information, call 262-7266.

Sovereign Grace to host open house

Sovereign Grace Chapel will host an open house and evening service at 4 :30 p.m. Sunday at the church on Echo Lake Road. A barbecue will follow the service. Jack Johnson will be the featured speaker. It is open to the public.

Kids’ night out planned

The Lighthouse Community Church hosts Kids’ Night Out from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sundays. Van rides will be available.

Children in grades kindergarten through six are eligible to attend.

Woman’s Bible class planned

Women’s Kenai Aglow- worship, fellowship and bible study will meet at 7 p.m. Mondays (except on holidays) at The Salvation Army at 210 N. Forest Dr. Kenai.

Harvest carnival planned

The Kenai New Life Assembly of God Church will host a harvest carnival from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Games, candy, food, cakewalks and jumping balloon castle are some of the planned events. Tickets are .25 cents each and are available at the door For more information, call 283-7752.

Clothes available

Clothes Quarters is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 225 S. Spruce St. in Kenai.
