Coyotes' Burke stonewalls Avalanche

PHOENIX -- Sean Burke made 29 saves for his 27th career shutout as the Phoenix Coyotes beat the Colorado Avalanche 1-0 on Saturday.

Krystofer Kolanos scored the game's only goal.

Maple Leafs 4, Penguins 0

TORONTO -- Curtis Joseph made 23 saves and Mats Sundin scored twice as Toronto beat Pittsburgh.

Penguins' star Mario Lemieux left the game after the first period when he aggravated a strained left hip muscle.

Thrashers 4, Lightning 3

ATLANTA -- Tony Hrkac scored with 5:03 left in the game lift Atlanta past Tampa Bay.

Ilya Kovalchuk, Hnat Domenichelli and Jiri Slegr also scored for Atlanta.

Rangers 2, Bruins 1, OT

BOSTON -- Theo Fleury tipped in Brian Leetch's pass with 24.2 seconds left in overtime to give New York a victory over Boston.

It was the Bruins' first loss at home this season.

Flyers 5, Canadiens 1

MONTREAL -- Kim Johnsson and Jan Hlavac scored early in the first period to lead Philadelphia past Montreal.

Mark Recchi, Ruslan Fedotenko and Marty Murray also scored for the Flyers.

Devils 3, Sabres 1

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Petr Sykora scored the go-ahead goal on a power-play and New Jersey defeated Buffalo.

Senators 4, Blues 1

OTTAWA -- Daniel Alfredsson scored three goals and added an assist as Ottawa beat St. Louis.

Alfredsson registered his third career hat trick by scoring three in the third period.

Red Wings 1, Predators 0

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Detroit goaltenders Manny Legace and Dominik Hasek combined for a 1-0 shutout and Steve Duchense scored his first goal of the season in a win over Nashville.

Legace started the game, but left at the 14:18 mark of the second period after Nashville's Kimmo Timonen fell on him while he was sprawled on the ice in front of goal.

CALGARY, Alberta -- Calgary's Jarome Iginla celebrated his 400th NHL game with a goal and an assist in Calgary's win over Minnesota.

Sharks 2, Blue Jackets 0

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Rookie defenseman Jeff Jillson scored his first NHL goal, and Evgeni Nabokov was rarely tested in his second shutout of the season as San Jose beat slumping Columbus.

San Jose captain Owen Nolan had two assists to tie Jeff Friesen for the franchise's career scoring lead as the Sharks rebounded from a lackluster road trip.

Oilers 3, Canucks 2

EDMONTON, Alberta -- Anson Carter's power-play goal with 3:54 remaining lifted the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-2 victory Saturday night over the Vancouver Canucks.

Todd Marchant and Jochen Hecht also scored for the Oilers.

Brendan Morrison and Trent Klatt scored for the Canucks, who have lost two straight and five of six.
