The following is a list of Soldotna Community School classes and activities beginning this week. The list is printed to serve as a reminder to registered participants. If you are interested in a class or activity, but are not preregistered, call the Soldotna Community School office at 262-6768 to check on space availability, location changes and cancellations. Extra brochures are available at the Soldotna and Kenai libraries and at the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District central office.
Note: Children are not allowed to attend an adult class or to wait unattended while a parent attends a class.
College Planning Strategies with Matthew Streiff, investment representative with Edward Jones Investments. The class will cover topics such as how to establish savings goals, understand and compare savings options, examine investment choices and explore financial aid. The class is open to adults 20 and older, and there is a 20-person maximum. The class runs one night, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Soldotna Middle School room 2. Cost is $5.
Tips for Managing Anger with Kathleen Dinius, licensed psychologist. Learn about why people get angry and how to respond to the emotion before it gets out of control. The class is open to teens and adults. It runs one night, from 7 to 9 p.m., in Soldotna Middle School room 4. Cost is $10.
Girl Scouting for You and Your Daughter with Joyce Cox, Kenai Peninsula Girl Scout field executive. The class will be an evening of information and craft fun. Girls should wear painting clothes. For more information, call 262-7616. The session runs from 6 to 8 p.m. in Soldotna Middle School room 1. It is free and open to ages 5 and up.
There will be no classes held at Soldotna Middle School on Wednesday and Thursday due to parent-teacher conferences.
