Chimphalee named Shrine Game MVP

Kenai Central senior Bill Chimphalee grabbed a game-winning, 6-yard touchdown pass with 10 seconds left to win the 30th Annual North-South Shrine Football Classic at Anchorage Football Stadium.

The game brings together the best senior football players in Alaska. The proceeds go directly to support the Shriners Hospital for Children. Shriners Hospital for Children is currently treating over 500 of Alaska's children.

Soldotna senior Les Baker was a lineman of the game, while Soldotna's Timo Gleason was a defensive player of the game. Other area players on a pregame roster were SoHi's Bryce Gardner, Marvin Tate, Matthew Strieby, Josh DeTaveriner and Josh Denna, and Kenai's Travis Pierce.
