Library holds pumpkin contest

Awards for the Friends of the Joyce K. Carver Memorial Library in Soldotna Annual Pumpkin Carving/Painting Contest, will be presented Friday at 4 p.m. The contest was open to elementary aged children, teens and families. Entries must represent a fictional book character.
Haunted theater
The Triumvirate Theater in Soldotna's Peninsula Center Mall will hold a haunted house from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Admission is $3.
Eagles Hallows fun
Kenai Eagles Aerie #3525 on the Kenai Spur Highway will be having a children's Halloween Party Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. with games, prizes and hotdogs for everyone (While supplies last). Games limited to children 9 years and younger.
Ghoulish music at Veronica's
Veronica's Cafe in Old Town Kenai will have a spookily fun time with Sue Biggs and Jack Will providing the entertainment on Saturday starting at 6:30 p.m. Costumes are welcome!
Halloween patrytime at American Legion
The American Legion Post 20 will have a Halloween party on Saturday beginning at 8:30 p.m. Don Weller and JD Uponen will play live music.
Night of the living dead: Kenai costume party
Studio 986 in Kenai will have a Halloween costume party on Saturday from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. with prizes for the best get-up. Live music will be provided by local bands kronik OnyX, Men with Guns, DJ Flavour, DJ Lil Yim Yim, and DJ MotOfingers. Celebrate Halloween and support local music! Admission is $7 at door. Boys & Girls Club hosts Trunk or Treat

Kasilof Halloween bash
Annual Kasilof Halloween Bonfire and Trunk or Treat on North Cohoe Road/Gravel-Slash Pit will be held on Halloween from 5 to 8 p.m. Roast hot dogs and marshmallow and warm up with coffee, hot cider and hot chocolate. Kenai Elks "Spooktacular"
The Kenai Elks Lodge #2425 will be hosting the sixth annual Spooktacular on Halloween from 2 to 5 p.m. This event is free and the children of the community are welcome. There will be carnival booths and prizes as well as a costume contest. For more information please call the Lodge after 4 p.m. at 283-7776.
Teen Halloween Dance
A Hallows Eve teen costume party and dance will be held Saturday from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Kenai Rec Center. Prizes will be given away for best costumes and a live DJ will provide the music. All 8th to 12th graders are welcome. This is not a city or school sponsored event it is a fundraiser for the Aurora Senior Company. Admission is $8 for individuals and $15 for couples.
