Awards for the Friends of the Joyce K. Carver Memorial Library in Soldotna Annual Pumpkin Carving/Painting Contest, will be presented Friday at 4 p.m. The contest was open to elementary aged children, teens and families. Entries must represent a fictional book character.

The Kenai Elks Lodge #2425 will be hosting the sixth annual Spooktacular on Halloween from 2 to 5 p.m. This event is free and the children of the community are welcome.
