Soldotna chamber meets Tuesday

The Greater Soldotna Chamber of Commerce's weekly luncheon meeting is scheduled for noon Tuesday at the Riverside House. The speaker will be Duane Wise, a rural loan officer with Alaska Housing. For more information, call 262-9814.

Health center hours change Tuesday

The Homer Public Health Center's immunization clinic for Tuesday will have reduced hours of 1 to 3:30 p.m. For more information, call 235-8857 or 1-800-770-8857.

Bereavement group meeting planned

Little Lost Angels Relief Fund will host a parents bereavement group from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Bridges in Soldotna. The group, for parents who have lost a child, will meet the first Wednesday of every month. Lisa Best will be the instructor. There is no charge.

Training session tackles insurance

The Business Opportunities Network is sponsoring a free session titled "Business Insurance for the Self-employed" at noon Thursday in the Peninsula Center Mall. The session will focus on business insurance and related issues of concern to the self-employed. For more information, call 260-2663.

Winter kickoff program planned

A "Winter Kickoff Extravaganza" sponsored by the Tsalteshi Trail Association and Soldotna Community Schools is scheduled for Friday at Skyview High School in celebration of the opening of the ski season for the trail association and 25 years of community education with Soldotna Community Schools.

The event begins at 4:15 p.m. with a bonfire and orienteering outing on the trail system, followed by a 6 p.m. community potluck in the Skyview commons. Bring a dish to share -- dessert will be provided. A Tsalteshi Trail Association trail meeting is planned for 7 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening.

Steering committee to meet

The Healthy People steering committee's regular monthly meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Nov. 9 at Bridges in Soldotna. For more information, call 262-1831.
