Smalley is the kind of legislator Alaskans need working for them
In the past 10 years Alaskans have seen continued cuts to the budgets of departments that are basic to a safe and growing state. At the same time we've seen population growth here, we have also seen cuts in the number of troopers covering the Kenai Peninsula. Highway maintenance cuts have resulted in the closing of vital highway maintenance stations for our area. And education has been trying to do more with less for years.
We need legislators who have their priorities straight. We must elect people who will stand up to the challenge of adequately funding these priorities.
We don't need anyone who will make decisions behind close doors away from public scrutiny. We don't need anyone who will "go just along for the sake of going along." We need people who will remember who they are representing.
Hal Smalley is just the person we can depend on. He is up to the challenge.
Hal Smalley will do the job that needs to be done for the peninsula. He'll get my vote on Nov. 5. I hope he'll get your vote, too.
