First-grade students finished their animal research questions, visited the hay tunnel and watched a puppet show put on by the fire department. They also are celebrating Red Ribbon Week and working on number sentences, doubles and weight.
Raffle ticket sales end today. The drawing will be Nov. 17.
Parent-teacher conferences are Thursday and Friday.
Trunk-or-treat will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Daniels' class would like to thank Dr. Stephen Stringham (Bear Paw), Mrs. Paw (his wife) and his assistant Tasha VanBleek for visiting the class and sharing real-life bear experiences and bear safety tips. The class thanks the volunteers who drove to the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Visitors Center's Bear Quest field trip. The class also thanks Mr. and Mrs. Cloud for putting up the display board outside the classroom.
Title I thanks those who volunteered and participated at Bingo for Books last week. The staff thanks the following businesses and individuals for their support: Godfather's Pizza, for pizza; the Shortstop, for ice and door prizes; Safeway, for discounted prices on soda; KSRM, KKISS and KWHQ for the free air time; and the class's foster grandparent Grandpa Norm, for being the bingo caller. Title I appreciates all of the staff and students who helped with Bingo for Books.
