Skyview craft fair continues

The Skyview High School girls’ basketball team’s arts and crafts fair will be held from noon to 5 p.m. today at the school.

Stress management to be discussed

Central Peninsula Counseling Services continues with its free series of resiliency building classes. The next class, “Stress Management” will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Redoubt Room at Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. It is open to the public. Halloween party set for fun

Decanter Inn RV Park will host a Haunted Swamp for children in the Kasilof community at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Candy and prizes are some of the planned activities.

CPGH to host book fair

Central Peninsula General Hospital Auxiliary will hold a book fair from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the Iliamna Room at the hospital. Proceeds will benefit its scholarship program.

Seniors to host fall bazaar

The Nikiski Senior Citizens Center will hold a fall bazaar from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the center. A snack bar will be open and baked goods also will be available for sale. Vendor space is available for $15 for one day or $10 a day if vendors stay for all three days. Trapping, snaring classes set to spring

The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game will hold a trapper orientation class from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the refuge on Ski Hill Road in Soldotna. Trappers who have taken the course before are not required to take it again.

Trappers who wish to extend trap check requirement dates from every four days to seven days will need to attend the snaring seminar from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Environmental Education Center at the refuge. For more information, call 262-7021.

Soldotna seniors plan bazaar, bake sale

The Soldotna Senior Citizens Center will host a bazaar, bake sale and its 10th annual art show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Crafts and gifts will be available. The open judged art show is available for viewing. Baked goods and lunch also will be available for purchase. For more information, call 262-2322.

Diabetes cooking classes offered

Central Peninsula General Hospital will hold a series of diabetes cooking classes from 6 to 8 p.m. Nov. 7, 8 and 9 at Christ Lutheran Church. The cost is $15 per person and the class size is limited to 16 people. Registration and prepayment may be done at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service office on Kalifornsky Beach Road or by calling 262-5824. Deadline to register is Friday.
