Halloween happenings

All day -- Haunted house at Sterling Elementary during school hours.

8:15 a.m. -- All entries for the K-Beach Elementary pumpkin carving contest are due at the library. No carved pumpkins allowed. Pumpkins should be decorated as a character or object from literature.

9 a.m. -- Costume parade at Cooper Landing Elementary. Parents are welcome to attend.

11 a.m. -- Sears Elementary annual costume parade. Parents are welcome to attend.

2 p.m. -- Redoubt Elementary costume parade. Students should not wear costumes to school unless instructed by their classroom teacher. Parents are welcome to attend.

6 p.m. -- Tustumena Elementary annual carnival at the school. Games, snacks and prizes will be available. Wear costumes. The event ends at 9 p.m.


6 p.m. -- K-Beach Elementary "Trunk or Treat." Wear costumes, decorate cars and bring candy to share as youngsters trick or treat from car to car in the school parking lot. The event ends at 7:30 p.m.

6 p.m. -- Tustumena Elementary "Trunk or Treat." The event ends at 8 p.m.

6 p.m. -- Halloween party at Sterling Senior Citizens Center, including games, prizes and a costume contest. Open to the public. Event ends at 8 p.m.

6 p.m. -- Halloween Hoot at the Ninilchik Fairgrounds. Admission is free for children. Event ends at 9 p.m.
