The Soldotna Inn and Mykel's Restaurant will host a free haunted house from 5 to 9 p.m. today and Friday. The entrance will be the Soldotna Inn lobby. For more information, call 262-9169.

The Soldotna Church of God on the corner of Redoubt and Binkley streets will have a Halloween event called the Truth Time Machine from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday. For more information, call Melissa Maal at 252-4418.

The Kenai Potters Guild will have a Clay Art Show on display from Saturday through Nov. 29 at the Kenai Fine Arts Center on Cook Avenue in Kenai. Visitors are asked to vote on their favorite pieces, and three awards will be given to the winners. An opening reception for the show will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. The center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

The Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center has "Alaska Wild: 2003," an annual traveling exhibit of the Alaska Society of Outdoor and Nature Photography, on display in the gallery starting Nov. 6 through 28. Also on display is a collection of colorful digital photography prints by Clayton Hillhouse through Nov. 21 in the conference room. There will be a reception with refreshments for both shows from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 6 as a First Thursday event. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The Gary L. Freeburg Art Gallery at Kenai Peninsula College has a book and box structures and sculptures exhibit by Susan Share on display Nov. 14. The gallery's hours are 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays.

Kaladi Brothers in Soldotna has Rube Tikka, Pam Mersch and Dottie Sanders as its featured artists of the month and hosts a chess club every Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Mykel's Restaurant has video stills for its art of the month.

Artwork by Kenai Peninsula artists can be viewed and purchased at the following area businesses: Art Works, Birch Tree Gallery, Claudette's Folk Art and Collectibles, Donna's Country and Victorian Gifts, Frames and Things, Malfunction Junction Gifts, Northcountry Fair and Tammy's Flowers and Gifts in Soldotna; Alaskan Gift and Gallery, Fireweed Herb Garden and Gifts, Kenai Fine Arts Center and Kenai Visitors and Cultural Center in Kenai and Peninsula Furs Inc. in Sterling.

The Kenai National Wildlife Refuge Information Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The center is on Ski Hill Road near the intersection of the Sterling Highway and Funny River Road in Soldotna. For more information, call 262-7021.
