The Seward wrestling team led the Kenai Peninsula with a seventh-place finish on Friday and Saturday at the Anchorage Christian Schools Invitational.
ACS won the meet, while Ninilchik was 19th, Nikiski was 24th, Seldovia was 25th and Cook Inlet Academy was 32nd.
Ninilchik had the lone champion from the peninsula. At 152 pounds, Austin Vanderford pinned Blake Elder of Houston for the crown.
Seward had seven placewinners, with Shane Douglas taking third at 103, Matt Nyholm taking fifth at 145, Dylan Beck taking sixth at 152, Alan Logan taking fourth at 171, Will Chisholm taking fifth at 171, Ian Filbert taking fifth at 215 and Brandon O’Brikis taking second at 275.
Nikiski’s lone placewinner was Casey Seaman, who took fifth at 189.
