Chamber to meet

Clinic's hours reduced

Science workshops offered

The Challenger Learning Center offers a science workshop, "Nothing But Newton," from 3 to 5 p.m. today for grades two through four. More science workshops will be held for home- schooled students Nov. 14, 28 and Dec. 12. The cost is $15 per session and reservations are required. For more information, call 283-2000.

NAMI to meet

The Kenai-Soldotna chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Central Peninsula General Hospital. Sterling school to hold play group

Preschoolers from newborn to 5-year-old children and parents may join the Read and Run Play Group which meets from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursdays in the Sterling Elementary gym. The play group includes free play and story time with Sterling Elementary first-graders. Bring toys to share.

Bake sale planned

The Nikiski Senior Center will hold its annual bake sale and bazaar Thursday and Friday. Tables cost $10 to rent per day. For more information, call 776-7654.

Video showing scheduled

The Kenai Peninsula Community Care Center is offering an innovative video-based program called "Active Parenting of Teens." The showing will be at the Central Peninsula General Hospital in room 3 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Registration is free and class materials are provided.

Seward chamber meeting planned

There will be a Seward Chamber of Commerce general meeting Friday at noon at the Harbor Dinner Club. A seminar called "Developing a Business Plan" will be presented by Kenai Small Business Development Center representatives. They will discuss elements of starting businesses, profitability of a business and examining a marketing plan. It is open to the public. Reception slated for clay exhibit

Registration under way for swim lessons

Nov. 30 is Alaska Junior Miss deadline

Nov. 30 is the deadline for applying to take part in the annual Alaska Junior Miss competition scheduled for Jan. 27 in the Soldotna High School auditorium. Judges are looking for scholastic achievement, creative and performing arts, fitness and poise. Entry is free. Contact your school counselor for an application packet.
