Soldotna resident Frieda Krause died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, at her home. She was 80.
Graveside services will be held at the Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, Calif., where she will be buried next to her husband. Mrs. Krause was born March 16, 1923, in Lodi, where she was raised and graduated from high school. She lived most of her life in Lodi and traveled often with her husband, Johnny Ray Krause, and family.
She enjoyed embroidery, crafts and gardening. She moved to Soldotna in September 2003 to be closer to her family.
"Frieda was a loving, caring girl who always thought of others before herself. She loved being around family and was so excited about coming to Alaska for her first time," her family said.
Mrs. Krause was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Ray Krause in March 2003.
She is survived by her son, John Evers Krause of Lodi; daughter, Shirley Krause of Middletown, Calif.; son, Willie Krause of Clear Lake, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, John and Debra Krause of Soldotna; grandsons, Rob, Ron and John William Krause of Soldotna; granddaughters, Crystal Krause of Kalispell, Mont., Kara Krause of Las Vegas and Paula Litschauer of Arizona; grandson, Tim Evers of West Point, Wis.; brothers, Art Hofer of Stockton, Calif., and Adolf Hofer of Gridley, Calif.; sisters, Bertha George of Stockton and Eva Sproek of Point Pleasant, Calif.; daughter, Betty Rankin of Lincoln, Neb.; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and two great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel and the Cherokee Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Lodi.
