Saturday night was a night to behold. The Alaska Peace Officers had their annual concert to raise money for the youth in our community and boy was it a hit! I was so thrilled to see that the Renee Henderson Auditorium was filled to the rafters! That was just awesome and so wonderful to see. It was also so great to walk in and see Gordon Griffin standing there like old times. I was so sorry to find out he was there because of sad circumstances, but it was so nice to see him never the less. He was such a fixture there for so many years and did such a wonderful job of running the venue. I truly appreciated all he did.
The concert was out of sight from the first song that was sung by Brewer and Shipley and just kept coming until the end of the night by the Bellamy Brothers. They are a joy to see and watch. It has not been there first time here and I sure hope not their last! It was a super duper evening of wonderful entertainment for all and I mean all, for there was ages from very young to us older ones and it had the place rocking, and I mean that literally, for there were women up in the aisles dancing away (now guys, you could of taken part also) during a few songs and that was fun to see.
We have been here for thirty-eight years now and I have missed very few concerts and by having the wonderful turn out we had Saturday night, I hope it will enable us to have some more. Again, thanks everyone for making it a wonderful evening for all. Be waiting for the next one.
