Longtime Nikiski resident Christy S. (Crume) Dillon died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at her home. She was 39.
A celebration of her life and memorial potluck will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the Moose Family Lodge in Kenai.
Ms. Dillon was born Aug. 29, 1969, to Walter Jack and Dona May (Harris) Crume in Hillsboro, Ore. She graduated from high school. Ms. Dillon moved to Alaska in November 1982. She had lived in Chugiak from 2003 until 2005 when she moved to Wasilla where she lived until recently. She was the junior regent at the Moose Family Center. She enjoyed poetry, photography, gardening, camping, fishing, target shooting, card playing and anything to do with eagles.
"Christy was the most caring biggest hearted person in the world. She was always there to put a smile on your face no matter what might be troubling you. Every young person who met her immediately called her 'Aunt Chris.' Her children were the heart and soul of her life. She will be forever loved and missed," her family said.
Ms. Dillon was preceded in death by her brother, Henry Ivanoff; and grandparents, Walter and Peggy Crume.
She is survived by daughters, Catrina "Kat" Brandon of Siletz, Ore., and Sara "Bear" Pfluger Scudder of Albany, Ore.; sons, Donald "DJ" Dillon of Kenai and Willie "Wonka" Dillon and Robert "Roberto" Dillon both of Nikiski; granddaughter, Kyra Pemberton of Siletz; son-in-law, Matt "MDPM" Pemberton of Siletz; mother, Donna Harris of Kenai; father, Jack Crume of Tillamook, Ore.; grandfather, John Harris Sr. of Garibaldi, Ore.; grandmother, Wilma Cruse of Hermiston, Ore.; sisters, Teresa Larson and Diane (Crume) O'Hearn both of Nikiski, Bobby Jo Crume of Fairview, Ore., Jeannie Crume of Moses Lake, Wash., Julie Crume of Tillamook, Cindy Crume of Moses Lake, Monica Ivanoff of Nikiski, Jaylee Harris of Kenai and Ronnie Ivanoff of Mariannah, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Todd Nelson and Jimmy O'Hearn both of Nikiski; nieces and nephews, Athena and Adreann Baker, George, Sadie, Selena, Gretchen and Mikayla Larson, Malissa, Walter and Warren Gage, Johnathan, Jessica, Cassandra, Russel, Daniel, William, Michael, Peter, Jeff, Bill, Ben and David; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in Alaska and Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the family c/o Catrina Brandon, 128 Sprucewood Dr. No. 3, Kenai, AK 99611.
