Fairbanks library is vandalized

FAIRBANKS (AP) -- Fairbanks police are looking for whoever broke into the Noel Wien Public Library and did about $4,000 in damage.

The vandals broke out a window, then entered the library and tipped over book shelves and pushed a computer off a desk late Monday or early Tuesday.

''There doesn't seem to be a particular point to the break-in other than being stupid and vandalizing things,'' Officer David Elzey said. ''It seems like one of those totally pointless things.''

Police said they don't have any suspects in the case.
