'Concert in Contrasts' planned for Saturday

The Performing Arts Society of Kenai and Soldotna will present a "Concert in Contrasts" Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Kenai Peninsula College.

Flutist Dorli McWayne and pianist Eduard Zilberkant will perform Cesar Franck's Romantic era piece, "Sonata in A major" and Claude Bolling's contemporary suite for flute and jazz piano.

The jazz suite will be accompanied by Woody McCubbins on drums and Al Diaz on bass.


Eduard Zilberkant

McWayne is the principle flutist with the Fairbanks Symphony and the Arctic Chamber Orchestra. She has performed throughout the U.S. and recorded with the National Flute Choir.

Zilberkant is an award-winning pianist who has performed internationally in Europe and in Russia.

Ticket prices are $15 for general admission and $12 for students and senior citizens.

Tickets are available at River City Books and Northcountry Fair in Soldotna, Alaska Gift and Gallery in Kenai and at the door.
