Alaska speaks to me

Posted: Thursday, November 01, 2007

Alaska speaks to me ...

Not with the chaotic city voices of steel and stone,

But with the whispers of the wind and earth and water

Alaska sings to me ...

Not with the blare of horns and the babble of myriad voices,

But with the melodies of abundant life, wild and free

Alaska nourishes my soul ...

Not with the rituals and formality of organized religion,

But with a beauty and majesty so profound,

that the existence of a Higher Power can never be doubted

Alaska calls to me ...

Not with the promise of riches and power,

But with the promise of life lived joyously and peacefully,

Sustained by Mother Earth amid all the wonders She has to share
