If pet owners let animals roam, they should expect consequences

It is time pet owners accept the responsibility for their pets. Cheyenne, a Homer dog, lost its leg in a trap, allegedly.

The owners were naturally upset and felt they had to point the finger at someone.

You and you alone are responsible for the safety and well-being of your pets. This pet was allowed to roam around the neighborhood. It could have just as easily been run over or poisoned by a neighbor, tired of picking up trash after it. This alleged trap might have been perfectly legal.

If you must have a pet, take care of it.
