Colony got nine kills and seven aces from Rochelle Ray, as the Knights beat Soldotna 25-13, 25-10, 25-17 in Region III/4A action Friday at Colony. Jacquelyn Cowan led Soldotna with six kills in the losing effort, while Stacey Foster added three digs for the Stars.

Colony 3, Kenai 0

Colony completed its weekend sweep of central peninsula teams Saturday, defeating the Kenai Kardinals 3-0. The Knights got 10 service aces, including five from Rochelle Ray, to control the Region III/4A contest.

Palmer 3, Kenai 0

The Palmer Moose volleyball team picked up a Region III/4A victory Friday, taking three straight games from the visiting Kenai Kardinals.

Seward 3, Susitna Valley 0

The Seahawks wraped up their regular season with a pair of District 3/3A wins in Seward.

Friday, Seward defeated Susitna Valley 25-17, 25-18, 25-23. Saturday, the Seahawks beat the Houston Hawks 25-21, 25-17, 25-17.

Seward coach Angela Hammer said her team was able to use the matches a an opportunity to try some things before this weeks district tournament.

Friday, we played everybody and worked on every combination possible, Hammer said. Saturday against Houston, we worked on a couple of different lineups, worked on changing the game up a little bit, and trying to use a little more communication in what the oppoenent is doing.

Seward finishes the regular season with a 14-4 overall record and a 10-2 mark in district play.
