Longtime Alaskan and Soldotna resident Peggy Sue Kjostad died Oct. 17, 2007, in Fresno, Calif. She was 48.

Per her request she was cremated. Services will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Kjostad was born July 2, 1959, in Palmer. She graduated from Chowchilla Union High School. She worked for Job Ready and tended bar for many years in California.

"She loved collecting antiques, the outdoors and spending time with her children. She liked to play bingo and go fishing. She will be missed by all of her children, family and friends. She was loved by all that knew her and always tried to make anyone in her presence happy," her family said.

Mrs. Kjostad was preceded in death by her father, Leroy Erling Kjostad Sr.; and brother, Leif Ericus Kjostad.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia Dawn of California and Craig Nelson, Catherine Denise, Shellie Sue and Eric Anthony of Soldotna; sisters and brothers, Brenda Dean of Arkansas, Leroy Kjostad Jr. of Washington, Shirl Kjostad and Ole Kjostad of California, Barbette Chapman of Oregon, Leif Kjostad of Wasilla and Christina Kjostad of Soldotna; mother, Barbara J. Roan of California; three grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were made by Stratford Evans Funeral Home in Merced, Calif.
