Arthur Vohs

Former Soldotna resident Arthur Vohs died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, in Montana. He was 79.

No services will be held.

Mr. Vohs was born June 8, 1925, in Morton, Minn., the sixth of nine children born to Oscar and Mable Vohs. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. After moving to Alaska in 1965, he worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Operators Union, Local No. 302.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, and brothers, Wes, John and Glenn.

He is survived by his daughter, Pam Johnson of Maple Grove, Minn.; brothers, Roy of Tighe Valley, Ore., and Barney of Queen Valley, Ariz.; sisters, Viola Davis of Soldotna, LaDonna Hinkle of Richland, Ore., and Lily Swanson of Scurry, Texas.

Arrangements were made by Big Sky Crematorium in Montana.
