Mrs. Sotelo's fourth- through sixth-grade class assembled 200 dozen enchiladas for its annual enchilada sale. The cooked ingredients were prepared by Froso's in the restaurant kitchen. The students used an assembly line procedure to prepare the enchiladas, practicing safe food production and sanitation guidelines. The students made about $1,000 in profits for their efforts.
Mrs. McCabe's first-through third-grade class is working on graphing and learning about the local community. The class also will study the concept of line with a focus on Claude Monet's works of art from the Impressionism period.
Mrs. Overturf's kindergarten class will go on a walking field trip to Cad-Re Feed to visit live male and female turkeys Thursday. Parent escorts are needed.
All classrooms at the school are focusing this year on the works of Claude Monet and the Impressionists, the works of Wolfgang Mozart and the music of Classicism and Pre-Romanticism.
The school has sponsored two parent volunteer training sessions for the topics of one-to-one reading and one-to-one handwriting instruction. Parent volunteers in these areas are needed.
