The school would like to thank all the parents and community volunteers who helped with Falcon fun nights, family art night, the book fair and trunk-or-treating. The events were a success due to the many hours of help from volunteers.
The staff would like to thank the Sterling Senior Center for allowing the staff to join area senior citizens for lunch Oct. 22. The lunch, piano music and the company were enjoyed by all.
The PTA will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday in the library. All parents and interested community members are invited.
Reading is Fundamental (RIF) will do its first book distribution of the year Friday. Every child in the school will get to choose a new book to add to their own book collection at home. RIF book distributions are made possible by donations from the classrooms, Title I, PTA and the national RIF program.
The school is submitting an application to be a host site for a BIRCH AmeriCorps member. Applications to be the BIRCH AmeriCorps member are being accepted and can be picked up and returned to the school. If the school's application is accepted by RuralCAP, a person would be hired by RuralCAP to coordinate health and wellness activities for the school and community, in exchange for a monthly stipend and an educational allowance, plus other benefits. See the school principal or Krissy Mahan for more information about this program.
