BETHEL (AP) -- A Yute Air airplane attempting a takeoff Friday afternoon ran off the Bethel runway.
The plane carried mail and freight but no passengers, said Yute Air manager Billy Rohe. The pilot was unhurt.
Alaska State Troopers said the Cessna 207's propellor, nose gear and left wing tip were damaged when it sped downhill and crashed into a chain-link fence.
Witnesses estimated damage at about $40,000.
