Three-year-old Kaitlyn Leckband is off to an early start representing her community. Kaitlyn applied to be Mini Miss Soldotna and entered the Mini Miss Alaska All American Girl pageant in Anchorage earlier this month. "We try to find different things for our kids to do and introduce them to a variety of different things when they are young so they have a lot of experiences when they get older," said Kaitlyn's mother Katrina. It was Kaitlyn's first pageant and she proved to be a trooper, "She woke up with a fever and running nose and watery eyes the morning of the pageant, but went out on stage and skated for her talent and did real good," said Katrina. There were seven other candidates from Fairbanks, Wasilla, and Anchorage, that ranging from 3-5 years of age vying for the Mini Miss Alaska title and Kaitlyn was selected Miss Sweetheart and Miss Personality of the pageant and 4th Runner up. Kaitlyn was cheered on by four generations at the pageant, her mother Katrina, Grandmother Tracey Myrick, and Great Mother Terry Myrick. When she grows up Kaitlyn says she wants to sing and dance.
