Canucks stay unbeaten on road at Avs expense

DENVER -- Markus Naslund and Todd Bertuzzi each had a goal and two assists, and the Vancouver Canucks beat the Colorado Avalanche 4-2 Monday night.

Vancouver remained unbeaten on the road this season (4-0-2), while Colorado stayed winless at home (0-2-3).

The Canucks' Dan Cloutier had 24 saves. Colorado's David Aebischer, subbing for Patrick Roy, out with an injured hip, stopped 17.

Flames 4, Islanders 2

UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- Chris Drury's goal 96 seconds into the third period helped Calgary beat the New York Islanders.

The Flames picked up points for the sixth game in a row, going 2-0-2-2 during that stretch. The Islanders lost their fifth straight and sixth in seven games.

The Flames took a 2-0 lead on goals by Craig Conroy and Mattias Johansson -- who scored his first NHL goal when his wraparound attempt went in off goalie Garth Snow's stick at 2:37 of the second period.

Wild 5, Kings 2

LOS ANGELES -- Marian Gaborik scored three goals and Cliff Ronning had a goal and two assists as Minnesota beat Los Angeles for its sixth victory in eight games.

Gaborik, who recorded his third career hat trick, had a power-play goal, a short-handed score and an empty-netter to increase his season total to 10. Pascal Dupuis had three assists and Dwayne Roloson had 24 saves.
