Borough comprehensive plan meeting set

The Kenai Peninsula Borough will hold a public meeting from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the Ninilchik Senior Citizens Center. The meeting is to identify local and boroughwide issues that should be addressed in its updated comprehensive plan.

LIO teleconferences set

The Kenai Legislative Information Office will hold the following teleconferences at its office at 145 Main Street Loop: The Senate Labor and Commerce Subcommittee will hold a public hearing on Pulltab Legislation at 9 a.m. Monday. Testimony will be taken.

The Department of Corrections will hold a public hearing on Alaska Correctional Industries quarterly business meeting at 1:15 p.m. Nov. 13. Testimony will be taken. For more information, call 283-2030.

Art show, bazaar slated

The Soldotna Senior Citizens Center will hold its seventh annual area art show and bazaar from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the center, 197 W. Park Ave. Baked goods, fine gifts and an open judged art show are planned. A special lunch menu also will be available. For more information, call 262-2322.

Experimental aircraft group to meet

The Experimental Aircraft Association will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Kenai Aviation office across the street from the fire department on Willow Street. A yet-to-fly home built aircraft will be on display. The public is invited to attend. For more information, call Nelson Amen at 776-3500.

Annual sports swap scheduled

The Kenai Central High School ski team will have its annual sports equipment swap at 9 a.m. Nov. 15 at the school. Participants are to set the price and drop off equipment from 6 to 7 p.m. Nov. 14 or from 8 to 9 a.m. Nov. 15 and then the ski team will sell it. Sellers keep 80 percent of sale price; the ski team keeps 20 percent. Money or items should be picked up no later than 1 p.m. Nov. 15. Unclaimed items will be considered donations. Food handlers class offered

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation will hold a class for food handlers from 5 to 9 p.m. Nov. 20 at the North Kenai Baptist Church. There is no fee for the class. Preregistration is required. For more information, call Jerry at 262-5210, ext. 242, or e-mail

Native Christmas bazaar planned
