Longtime Soldotna resident Anna Louise Creary died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at Heritage Place in Soldotna. She was 80.

Graveside services will be held at noon Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Spruce Grove Memorial Park in Kasilof, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Wallace. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Nov. 11 at the College Heights Baptist Church, 44440 Kalifornsky Beach Road in Soldotna. Pastor Scott Coffman will officiate. A reception will immediately follow the services at the church.

Mrs. Creary was born Feb. 15, 1926, in Fort Collins, Colo., where she was raised. She met her husband, Wallace, and they were married in 1944 in Fort Collins. They moved to Soldotna in 1961, where they homesteaded on Echo Lake Road.

Mrs. Creary was a homesteader, school bus driver and “Grannie Anne” to everybody.

Mrs. Creary was preceded in death by her husband in 1988.

She is survived by her sons, Howard and Richard Creary of Soldotna and son and daughter-in-law, Leo and Judy Creary of Soldotna; grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Brian and Emily Creary of Michigan and Darin and Ellina Creary of Anchorage; sisters, Florence Heinbeckner, Darlene Fortine and Patty McCann, all of California; and brothers, Bob, Ernest, Jim and Harvey Tiedeman, all from the Lower 48.

Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.
