Soldotna police received a report Monday afternoon from Soldotna High School that a student from Soldotna Middle School had been threatened with a pistol.

Police responded and learned a 13-year-old male was walking between the two schools when a group of four male teen-agers approached him. One of the teens allegedly pointed a brushed silver pistol at him and threatened him with it. The four teen-agers then walked away.

Further investigation led to the recovery of the pistol at the Soldotna residence of a 15-year-old male. Another 15-year-old male was arrested for third-degree assault. He was taken to the juvenile detention cell at the Kenai Police Department and held.

Police determined the pistol was a brushed silver .24 caliber air pistol that closely resembles a brushed silver semi-automatic pistol. The case is under investigation.
