Tustumena Halloween event proves to be great success
The Tustumena Trunk-or-Treat was held Halloween evening and was a definite success. The weather cooperated, and everyone had a great time, socializing and passing out treats to all the little "trunk-or-treaters."
A hearty thank-you to the school principal, Mr. Halvorson, and the Tustumena School PTO for their help and the use of the school parking lot.
To all the parents and neighbors who came, decorated their cars and passed out treats, it wouldn't have happened without you.
To these businesses who also donated treats, it's good to have you as neighbors: Kasilof Mercantile, Treasure Cache, Decanter Inn, Tustumena Lodge, ArcTech Construction and the Caribou Hills Cabin Hoppers snowmachine group.

Community support for race to help DeeDee Jonrowe appreciated
I would like to thank the community for its great support for the Dog Dash for DeeDee. The Tsalteshi Trail Association was so kind to allow the dogs on the trail for this special event.
No event can happen without volunteers and I want to thank Ole Andersson, Kenda and Mark Blanning, Kathy Bush, Dennis Dix, Kyle Gauthier, Jane Hardy, Jayne Hempstead, Penny McClain, Joan Miller, Jenni Mishler, Carolyn Rausch, Sheri Rose-Jones and Kelly Seder-holm. If I have forgotten anyone, it is not intentional. I deeply appreciate anyone who is willing to come out and help us have a race. Without these volunteers we could have no races.
Kaladi Brothers donated coffee. Safeway and Carrs supplied cookies. River City Books donated two copies of DeeDee Jonrowe's book and Veronica's donated two gift baskets. The participation of these businesses is very appreciated.
I'm so impressed with the generosity of this community. Our efforts generated $1,890 in cash. This was the least of our giving, since the outpouring of support generates a great deal of love and healing energy. Thanks again.
Mindee Morning, Kenai
