Love INC annual meeting slated

The fall gathering and annual meeting of Love INC will be Saturday at Ingrid's Inn in Kasilof.

A Love INC tune-up is scheduled for 10 a.m. followed by lunch at noon.

The group will set objectives and plan strategy from 1 to 3:30 p.m. and elect board members and review the past year at 4 p.m.

Lutefisk and lefse dinner planned

The annual lutefisk and lefse dinner will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church, Mile 1/4 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Soldotna.

Poetry contest deadline Saturday

The deadline is Saturday for entries in the Christian Fine Arts Society poetry contest.

The group is offering a $1,000 grand prize in the contest. Fifty prizes will be awarded totaling almost $5,000.

To enter, send one poem of 21 lines or less to Free Poetry Contest, 9588 Thornbush Lane, Fishers, IN 46038.

People also may enter online at www.freecon test.com.

Poems may be written on any subject as long as there is a spiritual reference. Entrants' names and addresses must appear on the page with the poem. A winners list will be sent to all who enter.

New church to start in Soldotna

The Matrix Church will hold its premiere service beginning at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Peninsula Christian Center in Soldotna.

While Matrix Church is designed for parents and children, focusing particularly on single parents and their kids, everyone is welcome.

Matrix Church will use some unconventional methods and techniques including puppets, popular music, unique drama and fun surprises.

Clothes2Go open Wednesdays

The Inlet Faith formerly Aurora Heights Assembly of God Clothes2Go is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays to meet people's clothing needs.

Clothes2Go is at the church on the corner of McGahan and Marie avenues, near Mile 27 of the Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. For more information, call 776-8723.
