Kenai resident Cecil "Buck" Jones died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, in Kenai. He was 74.
A wake and rosary will be held Sunday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. at St. Paul's Mission Recreation Center in Hays, Mont. Services will follow Monday, Nov. 8, at 11 a.m. with burial at the Jones Family Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was born Aug. 26, 1930, at the Fort Belknap Agency and was raised in Hays, Mont.
He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, carpentry, horse racing, animals, rodeos, bowling and fishing. He was known for his joking and fish stories. He would call his family and friends and send pictures of the huge fish he caught in Alaska. No matter where he traveled, he knew someone.
"Dad, watch over us; we love you and we will miss you," his family wrote.
Mr. Jones was married to Florine Cochran and they later divorced. He then married Pauline Zeir of Hardin, Mont.
He is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Jones; mother, Eva Turcotte; brothers and sisters, Medric, Jimmy, Thelma and Vernie; and grandson, Tyler Brockie.
Mr. Jones is survived by his sons, Matthew, Tommy, Kenny, Jesse, Darrin and David; daughters, Daryl, Audrey, Wanda, Laura, Mary, Karen, Sarah, Karma, Zita, Jere and Linda; 27 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ilene, Barbara, Jeannie, Sharon and Leona.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel.
