Soroptimist selling discount cards

Soroptimist International of the Twin Cities is selling discount cards to benefit its scholarship funds and other charitable activities. The cards contain discounts for businesses and are valid until Aug. 31. The cost is $10. For more information or to purchase a card, call Lyn Hodel at 262-9253.

Hospice to host art workshop

Hospice of the Central Peninsula will host an art workshop for youths ages 8 to 18 who are grieving the loss of a loved one at 6 p.m. Monday at the old Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church building on Redoubt Avenue in Soldotna. Local artists and hospice staff and volunteers will assist participants in expressing their grief and feelings through art. For more information, call hospice at 262-0453.

Childbirth film offered

Christmas bazaar planned

The Sterling Senior Citizens Center will hold a Christmas bazaar from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 12 and 13 at the center. Tables are still available to rent for $25. For more information, call 262-6808 or 262-2943.

Dental hygiene degree presentation slated

There will be an informational presentation regarding the University of Alaska Anchorage dental hygiene associate of applied science degree at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 12 in room 132 at Kenai Peninsula College. Auction fund-raiser set

An auction fund-raiser to benefit a nursing education scholarship fund at Kenai Peninsula College will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Kenai Citizens Senior Center. Hors d'oeuvres, wine, entertainment, auctions and prize giveaways are some of the planned activities. The cost is $35. Lutefisk and lefse dinner set
